Gaggia G100 vs G300: Which Office Coffee Machine Fits Your Workplace?
Updated: Sep 21
The short answer: the Gaggia G100 is usually the better fit when a workplace needs up to 100 drinks a day, a narrower footprint and a choice between fresh- or powdered-milk configurations. The Gaggia G300 is built for higher demand—up to 150 drinks a day in Gaggia Professional's current specification—with a larger interface and ingredient capacity for busy self-service use.
That does not mean the larger machine is automatically the better buy. The right choice depends on peak demand, drink mix, available space and who will refill and clean the machine each day.
G100 vs G300 at a glance
Gaggia G100: up to 100 cups per day, 308 mm wide, 7-inch touchscreen and fresh- or powdered-milk configurations.
Gaggia G300: up to 150 cups per day, 410 mm wide, 10-inch touchscreen and current manufacturer configurations centred on powdered milk.
Both use Gaggia Professional's removable Z4000 brewing system and are intended for commercial self-service environments.
Exact UK configuration, accessories, ingredient canisters and installation requirements must be confirmed before ordering.
Start with real daily demand, not headcount
Employee numbers are only a starting point. A 40-person office with high attendance and regular client meetings can use more coffee than a much larger hybrid workplace. Estimate the drinks made on a normal day, then check the busiest 30-minute period.
If demand is comfortably below 100 drinks and queues are unlikely, the G100 may provide the simpler and more space-efficient route. If the workplace is regularly close to 100 drinks, has a busy breakfast or meeting peak, or needs larger ingredient capacity, the G300 gives more headroom.
Milk choice may decide the machine
The G100 is especially useful when the business is still deciding between fresh milk and powdered milk. Fresh milk can deliver the style of cappuccino and flat white many teams expect, but it brings refrigeration and daily milk-system cleaning. Powdered milk reduces that operational burden and suits high-use self-service areas where consistency and straightforward cleaning matter most.
The G300's current manufacturer specification is aimed at powdered-milk service. That can be a strong fit for busy workplaces, but it should be treated as an operational choice—not a downgrade disguised as convenience.

Compare the footprint and installation
The G100's 308 mm width can make a significant difference on a tight office counter. The G300 is wider and taller, so the layout must allow for the machine, cup clearance, ingredient refilling, waste removal and service access.
Do not approve a machine from a brochure alone. Confirm water, drainage, electrical supply, filtration, counter depth and the route for delivery before the worktop or cupboards are finalised.
Think about the daily workload
A commercial machine must fit the people who look after it as well as the people who use it. Decide who will refill beans and ingredients, empty waste, run cleaning cycles and notice when stock is low.
Choose the G100 when the lower output and narrower body fit the site, or when fresh milk is a genuine requirement.
Choose the G300 when demand is higher, a larger self-service interface helps and powdered milk suits the operating model.
Do not choose either purely because its headline daily capacity is higher.
Ask for the exact configuration in writing so the quoted machine matches the required milk, chocolate, decaf and ingredient setup.
Which one would OBS recommend?
For many medium-sized offices, the G100 is the more proportionate starting point. It covers substantial daily demand without taking the space or ingredient capacity of a larger unit. The G300 becomes the stronger option where peak demand, self-service volume and replenishment capacity justify it.
If the figures sit on the boundary, the useful next step is a short capacity check rather than guessing. We will compare daily drinks, peaks, milk choice, available space and cleaning ownership before recommending a configuration.
